Overview:

FaceTime is an easy-to-use video communications app that enables you to set up video/audio sessions with family, friends and colleagues. You can have up to 32 participants in a Group FaceTime call. It is an Apple Inc product so you can’t make FaceTime calls from an Android device, although there are other ways to make video calls from an Android device - even to iPhone and Mac users.

You will need:

  • Basic smartphone screen manipulation skills or keyboard and mouse skills.
  • An iPhone, iPad or Apple Mac that can be connected to the internet.
  • Your Apple ID, which can be your iTunes Store account, iCloud ID, MobileMe account, or another Apple account. If you don’t have an account, you can tap Create New Account to set one up within FaceTime.

Learning Objectives:

The learning session will cover how to:

  • Download and install FaceTime on your device.
  • Create an Apple ID within FaceTime if you don’t otherwise have an Apple ID.
  • Join and leave a FaceTime session organised by someone else.
  • Set up a FaceTime session.
  • Manage a FaceTime session.
  • End a FaceTime session.
  • Use the internet to find instructions on ways to improve your FaceTime call experience.
