Overview:

Trade Me is New Zealand’s largest internet auction website for buying and selling a wide range of items.  It has over 4 million active members, almost 1 million people visit the site every day and there are over 6 million listings.  Trade Me is an easy way to buy and sell goods without leaving home.  It has replaced newspaper classified advertising.

You will need:

•   Basic computer skills including accessing the web and email.
•   A camera or a phone that can take photos, or bring with you a digital photo (on a USB Drive or mobile device) of
    something you want to sell.
•   If you already have a Trade Me account, you will need to have the user name and password of that account with you.

Learning Objectives:

The learning session will cover how to:
   •  Register a Trade Me account for selling and buying items.
   •  Find your way around the Trade Me site.
   •  Describe an item for sale.
   •  Choose suitable photographs to enhance your listing for sale.
   •  Bidding on items.
